Role Overview

This position will lead the healthcare market sector strategy in Northern California, driving growth, client engagement, and project delivery. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to clients, a mentor to staff, and a key contributor to the firm's long-term vision in healthcare infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the healthcare market sector across Northern California.
  • Lead business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and securing new work.
  • Serve as principal-in-charge or senior technical lead on major healthcare projects, ensuring quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across disciplines and offices to deliver integrated, high-performance solutions.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
  • Guide proposal development and interview preparation for healthcare pursuits.
  • Monitor market trends and client needs to inform service offerings and strategic direction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, developers, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives related to sustainability, resilience, and digital innovation in healthcare design.

Ideal Candidate

  • Licensed PE or SE in California (required).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong portfolio of healthcare projects.
  • Proven track record in business development, including client acquisition and strategic growth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and advancing healthcare infrastructure.
