A leading heavy civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent - Architectural Finishes & Interiors to oversee station, transportation, and public infrastructure finish work on high-profile projects throughout the New York City area.

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will take ownership of all architectural finish activities from installation through turnover, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
You will work closely with project management teams, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders while leading day-to-day field operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead all station and architectural finish construction activities from rough-in through completion.
- Coordinate and oversee installation of:
- Tile, terrazzo, stone, and masonry finishes
- Metal panels and architectural ceilings
- Drywall, painting, and decorative finishes
- Architectural concrete finishes
- Doors, frames, and hardware
- Signage, wayfinding systems, and specialty architectural features
- Passenger platform and public-area finishes
- Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules.
- Coordinate work activities with structural, civil, MEP, and systems teams.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and daily field operations.
- Resolve field issues, sequencing challenges, and constructability concerns.
- Monitor labour productivity, manpower levels, and subcontractor performance.
- Drive project schedules and implement recovery plans when required.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements.
- Manage punch list completion, closeout activities, and project handover.
- Maintain accurate daily reports covering progress, workforce, equipment, and site issues.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience within construction.
- Strong background managing architectural finishes and interior fit-out packages.
- Experience on transportation, rail, transit, airport, infrastructure, or large commercial construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and submittals.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors in complex project environments.
- Knowledge of phasing and construction within active or occupied facilities.
- Understanding of public-sector construction standards and inspection processes.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- NYC construction experience highly desirable.
