Superintendent- Heavy Civil | Austin
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on heavy civil construction projects in the Austin area. This role is responsible for managing daily site activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate has a strong background in self-perform civil work and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, schedule, and supervise daily construction activities from project start through closeout
* Lead and coordinate field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and material suppliers
* Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality requirements
* Enforce company and site-specific safety programs and conduct regular safety meetings
* Monitor production rates, manpower needs, equipment utilization, and job costs
* Work closely with the Project Manager to forecast schedules, resolve field issues, and manage changes
* Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, and documentation
* Interface professionally with inspectors, owners, engineers, and local agencies
Qualifications
* 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil construction projects
* Strong experience with earthwork, utilities, drainage, roadways, and/or concrete structures
* Proven ability to manage self-perform crews and subcontracted work
* Solid understanding of project schedules, cost controls, and productivity tracking
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality
* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
* Valid driver's license; OSHA 30 preferred
