A leading civil and environmental construction firm specializing in the development of critical infrastructure across the Southeast. With a strong portfolio of successful water and wastewater treatment plant projects, we are expanding our team in Charleston, SC, and seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex, high-impact projects.
Position Summary:
As a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee all on-site construction activities for water and wastewater treatment plant projects. You will be responsible for managing crews and subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality work that meets or exceeds project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily field operations, including excavation, concrete work, mechanical installations, and underground piping.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Enforce safety protocols and lead daily safety briefings to maintain a zero-incident job site.
- Monitor project progress, maintain detailed logs, and report updates to project management.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents to ensure compliance and quality.
- Resolve field issues promptly and effectively to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or supervisory role.
- Proven experience with water/wastewater treatment plant construction is required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
