Survey Party Chief
We are partnered with a well-established and growing land surveying firm in Fort Lauderdale that is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a smaller, employee-focused organization that has secured a strong backlog of work extending more than three years, including participation in a multi-million dollar project in Miami. The firm's workload spans a diverse mix of transportation, commercial, municipal, and infrastructure projects, providing long-term stability, variety, and career growth for the right candidate.
The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for:
- Leading field survey crews on a variety of boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
- Coordinating daily field activities to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
- Operating and maintaining survey equipment including total stations, GPS/GNSS, and data collectors.
- Reviewing field data and ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to office handoff.
- Communicating effectively with project managers, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Training and mentoring junior field personnel while promoting best practices and safety standards.
- Maintaining detailed field notes, records, and documentation throughout project execution.
The Survey Party Chief should have the following qualifications:
- 5+ years of field surveying experience, preferably in a Party Chief or crew leadership role.
- Strong background in traditional land surveying methods and field procedures.
- Experience performing boundary, topographic, route, and construction surveys.
- Proficiency with modern surveying equipment and data collection technology.
- Ability to read and interpret survey plats, construction plans, and legal descriptions.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
