A national leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Survey Project Manager to support the overall direction, coordination, implementation, quality assurance/quality control, and successful completion of survey-related projects. This role also involves mentoring junior staff, supporting client satisfaction, and contributing to business development under the guidance of regional and divisional survey leadership.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage project tasks, scheduling, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee project budgets and evaluate profitability, revenue, margins, billing rates, and utilization.
  • Conduct team meetings to coordinate workload and ensure project alignment.
  • Stay current on survey-industry trends, technologies, software, hardware, and field equipment.
  • Promote value through innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Assist survey leadership in establishing, implementing, and maintaining operational procedures and quality standards.
  • Ensure consistent formatting, accuracy, and efficiency across all survey deliverables within the team.
  • Work with leadership teams on staffing levels, workload balancing, and utilization planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen the firm's survey presence locally and nationally, including strategic pursuits of large‑scale survey opportunities.
  • Support business development by providing technical expertise and contributing to revenue generation.
  • Help cultivate a strong, positive team culture aligned with organizational goals and core values.
  • Ensure company values, policies, and practices are followed consistently throughout survey operations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, sound judgment, honesty, and transparency.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Active Professional Surveyor License (or significant equivalent experience for non‑licensed individuals).
  • Strong understanding of the land surveying profession, including experience supporting civil engineering projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of land surveying experience.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
