Role Overview
An international real estate advisory firm is seeking a Technical Lead - Sustainability to lead technical delivery of sustainability, decarbonisation, and building performance initiatives across complex built environment projects. The role combines deep technical expertise with client-facing advisory, supporting occupiers and investors in achieving sustainability, certification, and ESG outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead on sustainability and building performance across real estate assets and projects
- Lead and oversee sustainability certification strategies including planning, execution, and technical assurance
- Advise clients on decarbonisation pathways, energy efficiency, and operational performance improvements
- Translate sustainability and ESG objectives into practical, technically robust solutions
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and certification bodies
- Support proposal development, technical methodologies, and client-facing reporting
Key Requirements
- Degree-qualified in engineering, sustainability, environmental science, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical sustainability solutions within the built environment
- Strong understanding of building systems, energy modelling, and carbon reduction strategies
- Practical experience with major building sustainability certification frameworks, including:
- LEED (accreditation strongly preferred)
- BCA Green Mark
- WELL Building Standard
- BREEAM, NABERS, or equivalent international rating systems
- Ability to act as a technical authority while operating effectively in a client-facing advisory role
- Professional certifications such as LEED AP, Green Mark Professional, or similar are highly advantageous
