Telecom Design Consultant

Position Overview

Type: Full-time, Remote (U.S.-based)
Industry: ICT for hyperscale data centers and smart buildings
Travel: Up to 10% within the U.S.
Focus: Contribute to ICT design and project management for mission-critical environments, including structured cabling, security, and A/V systems.


Key Responsibilities

ICT Design & Engineering (95%)

  • Perform ICT design tasks for structured cabling, security, and A/V systems.
  • Develop scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs.
  • Determine physical layer routing and utilization.
  • Prepare drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Conduct QA/QC peer reviews and support design team coordination.
  • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports.
  • Prepare project design, specification, and construction documents.
  • Identify scope changes and support cost/deadline control strategies.

Administrative & Project Support (5%)

  • Manage personal and project hours using company tools.
  • Review and distribute daily reporting.
  • Support contract administration and departmental reporting.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and deliverables.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering and project management experience on ICT projects.
  • At least 2 years working on mission-critical data center design projects.
  • Experience with Revit modeling software.

Technical Proficiency

  • Knowledge of:
    • Fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products
    • Structured cabling design standards
    • AV, Access Control, and CCTV systems
  • Proficient in:
    • AutoCAD and Revit
    • MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies for workflow optimization.
