Tracker Project Manager- Utility Scale Solar
Role Summary
This position supports technical estimating and early‑stage project planning for utility‑scale solar developments. The role combines cost analysis, vendor engagement, and technical coordination to help optimize system selection and project execution across large renewable energy portfolios.
The successful candidate brings hands‑on experience with solar structural systems and collaborates closely with internal engineering and project teams to evaluate design constraints, pricing inputs, and constructability considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical and commercial estimating activities across multiple stages of project development
- Support cost modeling, planning, and scheduling efforts for utility‑scale solar projects
- Lead engagement with structural system and foundation suppliers, including pricing requests and technical evaluations
- Review vendor proposals and technical documentation to support product selection decisions
- Assess geotechnical information and understand its impact on foundation approach and cost assumptions
- Coordinate with engineering partners to align system selection with structural and site constraints
- Facilitate technical discussions internally to support informed decision‑making
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through technical guidance and product updates
- Participate in site visits and supplier facility visits as needed
Preferred Background
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a remote or distributed team environment
- Working knowledge of civil construction activities related to utility‑scale solar projects, including earthwork, trenching, drainage, and site preparation
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering scopes (civil, structural, electrical, and specialty studies such as geotechnical or hydrology)
- Experience reviewing early‑stage design information and supporting system optimization
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience supporting solar structural systems, foundation solutions, or related technical products strongly preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience working within utility‑scale solar development, construction, or manufacturing environments
- Comfort working with technical documentation, pricing inputs, and cross‑functional stakeholders
