Traffic Project Manager
A respected, employee-owned traffic engineering firm with a regional footprint is seeking a Traffic Project Manager to join its Seattle office. This is a high-impact role ideal for an experienced transportation professional looking to lead complex traffic projects, guide clients, and help grow local business.
With 10+ years of experience and a Washington PE license, the ideal candidate will bring both technical leadership and strong client relationship skills to a collaborative, tight-knit team. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote each week.
What You'll Do:
Lead a wide range of traffic engineering projects including corridor studies, signal design, safety analysis, and traffic operations modeling.
Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to municipalities, developers, and regional agencies.
Prepare and review technical deliverables, ensuring high-quality analysis and clear communication.
Oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Contribute to strategic business development, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and representing the firm at industry events.
Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Washington PE license (required)
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and project management
Proven ability to manage clients and multi-disciplinary teams
Proficient in traffic analysis tools such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM
Strong understanding of WSDOT, SDOT, and local design standards and permitting processes
Preferred Qualifications:
Business development experience or interest in a client-facing growth role
Experience with ICEs, PS&E preparation, safety studies, and multimodal corridor planning
Excellent communication and proposal writing skills
