Transmission Interconnections Manager
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Interconnections Manager to lead interconnection planning and execution for a growing transmission network. This role plays a critical part in enabling new load and generation connections while ensuring system reliability and regulatory compliance.
Job Overview
In this role, you will manage transmission interconnection activities, including coordinating power system studies and negotiating interconnection agreements. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver technically sound and cost‑effective interconnection solutions in a fast‑evolving market environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transmission interconnection processes for new loads, generators, and transmission assets
- Perform or coordinate power flow, stability, and facility studies to evaluate interconnections
- Prepare and oversee full interconnection study reports, including steady‑state and dynamic analyses
- Manage interconnection agreements, schedules, and facility planning requirements
- Represent the organization in industry working groups, task forces, and stakeholder meetings
- Develop capital plans and budgets for transmission upgrades required for interconnections
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, real estate, and project management teams to deliver projects
- Support regulatory processes and approvals for transmission infrastructure
- Identify and mitigate technical and commercial interconnection risks
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with applicable standards and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong experience in transmission planning, interconnection studies, or grid integration
- Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and ISO/RTO protocols
- Experience working with power flow and stability modeling tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, including presenting technical findings to non‑technical audiences
