About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Transmission Line & Distribution Project Manager to oversee major utility infrastructure projects spanning high‑voltage transmission and distribution networks. The ideal candidate has extensive Transmission experience, strong technical acumen, and a proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder capital projects from inception to completion.
This is a key leadership position offering significant impact on project delivery, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle management of transmission (primary focus) and distribution line projects-from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Build and manage project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and performance reporting.
- Coordinate engineering, construction, environmental, permitting, and subcontractor teams.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and utility specifications.
- Support permitting activities, right‑of‑way acquisition, environmental reviews, and landowner interactions.
- Conduct site visits to address field needs and ensure quality and progress.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and contractor performance management.
- Provide clear communication to client leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Drive improvements in project delivery, cost efficiency, and workflow processes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of project management experience, with the majority focused on Transmission (69kV-500kV).
- Demonstrated success managing large‑scale transmission and distribution projects.
- Strong understanding of transmission line design, construction practices, and industry standards.
- Experience overseeing multi‑million‑dollar capital projects.
- Familiarity with permitting, environmental compliance, and ROW processes.
- Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
- PMP certification preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
