Transmission Project Manager

An environmental consulting group focused on energy infrastructure is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to guide complex transmission‑related initiatives across Texas This role is suited for an experienced environmental professional who understands how transmission projects are planned, evaluated, permitted, and delivered, and who can effectively advise owners and development teams throughout that process.

The role spans early feasibility and planning activities through active construction and post‑construction support. The Project Manager serves as a central coordinator across environmental disciplines, client teams, and external partners, while also contributing to strategic growth efforts within the energy sector.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct environmental workstreams for linear energy infrastructure projects from concept through operation
  • Evaluate environmental constraints and risks using desktop studies and technical inputs to inform alignment and site selection decisions
  • Guide regulatory and permitting pathways involving federal, state, and local environmental approvals
  • Support construction‑phase environmental compliance, including field oversight, documentation, and agency interaction
  • Provide strategic advice to project sponsors regarding environmental risk management, schedule sensitivity, and regulatory exposure
  • Participate in client development activities by identifying upcoming opportunities, supporting pursuits, and strengthening long‑term relationships
  • Collaborate with external engineering firms, contractors, and specialty consultants to deliver integrated project outcomes

Experience & Background

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting focused on transmission or other large‑scale linear infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑disciplinary environmental teams and complex project schedules
  • Experience working directly with utilities, grid operators, or infrastructure developers in an advisory capacity
  • Familiarity with regional transmission planning frameworks, needs assessments, and ISO‑driven planning processes
  • Proven capability to support client engagement, market positioning, and energy‑sector growth initiatives
