Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Indiana. This position is responsible for managing project teams, developing client relationships, overseeing project budgets and schedules, and ensuring the successful execution of roadway, highway, bridge, and transportation improvement projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in transportation engineering, proven project management experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while delivering high-quality solutions for public-sector and municipal clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation engineering projects from initial planning through design, construction support, and project closeout.
  • Lead project scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and resource management efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, government agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation of roadway, highway, bridge, traffic, and transportation design plans.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including roadway, traffic, structures, drainage, environmental, and surveying personnel.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Participate in business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with INDOT, local municipalities, counties, and other public agencies.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff and project team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with INDOT standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of roadway design, transportation planning, and project delivery processes.
  • Experience working with INDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large-scale INDOT, municipal, or federally funded transportation projects.
  • Existing relationships with transportation agencies and public-sector clients throughout Indiana.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and transportation design software.
  • Experience with transportation alternatives, roadway reconstruction, intersection improvements, and bridge projects.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
