We are partnering with a well‑established international consulting firm to identify an accomplished Valuation & Litigation Director to join their Chicago practice. This is a key leadership role within a growing valuation and disputes group, offering the opportunity to lead high‑impact engagements, mentor emerging talent, and contribute directly to practice development.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will serve as a senior leader on complex valuation and forensic matters, working closely with attorneys, corporate clients, and internal teams on engagements involving:

  • Business valuations for transaction, financial reporting, and dispute purposes
  • Economic damages analyses across a range of litigation scenarios
  • Shareholder disputes, dissenting shareholder actions, and partner separations
  • Matrimonial litigation support, including valuations of closely held businesses
  • Expert testimony and preparation of defensible expert reports

This role is ideal for a valuation professional who thrives in a client‑facing environment and has demonstrated the ability to generate revenue, expand client relationships, and contribute to strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage valuation, forensic, and damages engagements from scoping to delivery
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert and, where appropriate, provide expert witness testimony
  • Oversee project teams, ensuring high‑quality analysis and adherence to professional standards
  • Build and deepen relationships with law firms, private companies, and financial sponsors
  • Drive business development initiatives and contribute to market visibility
  • Support recruitment, mentorship, and development within the valuation practice

Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • At least one valuation designation strongly preferred: ASA, ABV, or CVA
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in business valuation and litigation support
  • Proven expertise in economic damages, matrimonial matters, and shareholder disputes
  • Demonstrated success in revenue generation and practice development
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and courtroom presentation
