Job Title: Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
I. POSITION PURPOSE
The Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions is responsible for leading the strategic growth of the organization through the identification, evaluation, negotiation, and integration of acquisition and partnership opportunities. This role focuses on expanding the company's footprint, enhancing service offerings, and driving revenue by targeting complementary businesses and assets. The VP collaborates closely with executive leadership to align deals with corporate objectives, conducts rigorous financial and operational due diligence, and ensures seamless post-transaction integration.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Opportunity Identification
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition or partnership targets within the data center sector.
- Monitor industry trends such as cloud adoption, edge computing, and hyperscale demand to inform strategy.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of aligned assets and companies.
Business Case Development
- Lead due diligence on targets, assessing financials, performance, capabilities, contracts, and compliance.
- Develop business cases quantifying synergies such as capacity, customer base, and technology enhancements.
- Prepare executive-level presentations articulating strategic rationale and financial impact.
Deal Structuring and Execution
- Manage negotiations on deal structure, valuation, terms, and integration plans.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk assessment and smooth execution.
- Manage relationships with external advisors and investment banks.
Operational Integration
- Oversee post-acquisition integration of facilities, technologies, and teams.
- Develop and implement integration playbooks and track KPIs.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across HR, IT, finance, sales, and operations.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Build and lead a high-performing M&A team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on industry trends and best practices.
- Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support initiatives.
III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in M&A, preferably in the data center or technology sector.
- Proven experience in expansion projects and cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and technology real estate.
