Water Resources Engineer
A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join its Pittsburgh-area team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of stormwater, drainage, municipal infrastructure, and land development projects throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of technical design, project coordination, client interaction, and mentoring junior staff while contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects that positively impact local communities.
Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater and drainage systems
- Design stormwater management facilities, conveyance systems, grading plans, and drainage improvements
- Prepare erosion and sediment control plans and supporting permit documentation
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal project teams
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
- Provide quality control reviews and technical guidance to project teams
- Support construction phase services, including design clarifications and field coordination
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the water resources team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence required
- 5-15 years of experience in water resources, stormwater management, drainage design, municipal infrastructure, or land development
- Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater regulations, and permitting processes
- Experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, construction documents, and technical reports
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software
- Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills
