The Opportunity

We are partnering with a respected, employee-owned consulting firm to support the growth of their water resources team across California.

This is a high-impact Project Manager role where you will take ownership of technically complex work, lead projects end to end, and collaborate closely with clients on critical water supply and groundwater initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will lead both the delivery and technical execution of water resources projects across a diverse client base.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing project scope, schedule, and budget from kickoff through completion
  • Leading technical work related to groundwater systems, basin level planning, and water supply analysis
  • Overseeing development of models, water balance evaluations, and supporting studies
  • Translating technical findings into clear insights and recommendations
  • Preparing high-quality reports, planning documents, and technical deliverables
  • Presenting complex information to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory audiences
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, external partners, and clients
  • Supporting quality control and mentoring junior staff

Project Exposure

You'll gain exposure to a strong mix of work, including:

  • Groundwater planning and basin management
  • Long-term water supply and reliability strategies
  • Hydrogeologic investigations and modeling support
  • Water transfer and program implementation efforts
  • Well planning and system evaluation
  • Reuse and alternative water supply initiatives

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, or similar
  • 4+ years of experience in water resources or related field
  • Previous experience managing projects, including scope, budget, and timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced degree or professional registration
  • Experience with groundwater modeling or water resources planning
  • Familiarity with GIS, data analysis, or technical tools
  • Exposure to California water regulations and planning frameworks

Compensation & Benefits

  • $107,000 to $150,000 base salary + performance incentives
