Water Resources Project Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Water Resources Project Manager to join a growing Public Works team delivering impactful infrastructure, environmental, and water resources projects across New England and the Northeast. This is a high-priority strategic hire and offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, manage key client relationships, and play an important role in the continued growth of the practice.

This role is ideal for a consulting professional with 8+ years of experience delivering water resources, stormwater, drainage, watershed, municipal infrastructure, environmental, or related public works projects. The successful candidate will oversee projects from pursuit through delivery, manage multidisciplinary teams, support staff development, and contribute to business development and client growth initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of water resources and public infrastructure projects for municipal, state, federal, and private-sector clients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Review and provide quality assurance for technical reports, engineering designs, permit applications, and project deliverables.
  • Support proposal preparation, project pursuits, client development, and strategic business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, project engineers, and technical staff throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborate with environmental, transportation, aviation, and municipal infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions across a wide range of projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant consulting experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, municipal infrastructure, or environmental engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client-facing skills with experience building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead project delivery while balancing technical, financial, and client objectives.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence required.
  • Experience supporting business development, proposal efforts, and client account management preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
