Role: Wind Energy Project Engineer
Join a dynamic team driving the development of wind energy projects from concept to operation. In this role, you'll be instrumental in evaluating wind resources, shaping project layouts, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting to the Wind Engineering Lead, your focus will be on enhancing project performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate wind conditions and design efficient turbine layouts tailored to each site.
- Determine optimal locations for measurement equipment like met masts and remote sensors, considering technical and logistical factors.
- Lead efforts in engineering analysis and commercial optimisation to maximise project value.
- Oversee data collection and analysis from measurement devices, supporting both new and existing projects.
- Coordinate with external consultants and manage technical deliverables.
- Conduct field assessments and supervise the installation of monitoring equipment.
- Support contract negotiations by contributing technical insights and documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and help build internal expertise and best practices.
- Assess the feasibility of new sites and contribute to both onshore and offshore project evaluations.
- Work closely with land and permitting teams to ensure layouts align with regulatory and land-use constraints.
- Map and manage development constraints to inform design decisions.
- Maintain consistent project documentation and benchmarking.
- Collaborate with development, finance, and construction teams to ensure projects are technically and economically sound.
- Analyse operational data to assess energy output and performance.
- Plan and execute power curve testing in line with contractual obligations.

What You Bring
- A degree in Engineering, with a strong foundation in wind resource assessment.
- At least 5 years of experience in wind energy project engineering or analysis.
- Expertise in:
- Wind data modelling and statistical analysis
- Site evaluation and long-term energy forecasting
- Turbine layout optimisation and load assessments
- Familiarity with certification standards like Class NK
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as WAsP, Windographer, Openwind, and GIS platforms.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
