We are excited to partner with a leading environmental firm based across Australia, looking to grow their New South Wales team with a highly skilled and experienced Senior BAM Accredited Ecologist. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead impactful ecological projects, providing expert guidance on biodiversity assessment, management, and conservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage ecological assessments and surveys in accordance with the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM).
- Prepare high-quality ecological reports, including Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports (BDARs) and Biodiversity Certification Assessment Reports (BCARs).
- Provide expert advice on biodiversity conservation, environmental impact assessments, and ecological management plans.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and best practices.
- Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay up-to-date with current ecological research, legislative changes, and industry developments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BAM Accreditation.
- Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in ecological assessment and management.
- Strong knowledge of NSW biodiversity legislation and guidelines.
- Proven experience in preparing detailed ecological reports and documentation.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using ecological survey tools and software.
