Job Title: Business Development Manager - APAC (Solar Industry)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in the APAC region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development within the solar industry, with a focus on utility-scale solar projects. This individual will play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the growth of our solar portfolio in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for utility-scale solar projects across the APAC region, including market analysis, prospecting, and lead generation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utilities, developers, EPC contractors, and financial institutions.
- Lead the development of tailored business proposals and presentations to effectively communicate the value proposition of our solar solutions to potential clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess project feasibility, develop project proposals, and navigate regulatory and permitting processes.
- Conduct technical assessments of solar project sites, including site visits, resource assessments, and system design evaluations.
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project development lifecycle, from initial concept through to financial close.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and policy developments to identify new opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility and expand our network of contacts.
- Travel as required to engage with clients, attend meetings, and participate in project site visits across the APAC region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development within the solar industry, with a focus on utility-scale projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of solar energy systems, including solar PV technology, system design, and project development processes.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, pursuing, and closing business opportunities in the solar sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a drive to achieve targets and objectives.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the APAC region are a plus.
- Willingness to travel within the APAC region as required.
