Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Transport and Installation (T&I) Engineer to join our dynamic team for an offshore wind project currently under construction in Taiwan. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cable installation, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations. This is a fixed-term position until December 2026, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant renewable energy project.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop detailed plans and schedules for the transportation and installation of submarine cables.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet project deadlines.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical expertise in cable laying, burial, and protection processes.
- Ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with design and installation criteria.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks with installation teams.
Quality Assurance:
- Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation and records.
- Perform quality checks and testing of installed cables.
- Address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to provide updates on project status and address any concerns.
- Prepare and present reports on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including installation records, test results, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare regular progress reports and final project documentation upon completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cable transport and installation, particularly in offshore wind or marine projects.
- Strong knowledge of submarine cable installation techniques, equipment, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in offshore construction.
- Excellent project management and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for project planning and management.
