Job Title: Technical Maintenance Engineer (Electric Utility)

As a Technical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our electrical infrastructure. This position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switch gear, relays, and other components of the electrical distribution system.
- Diagnostic Analysis: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify potential issues before they escalate, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency of the electrical network.
- Preventive Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to optimize the lifespan and performance of critical assets. This includes planning and executing maintenance activities according to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency response efforts during power outages, equipment failures, or other incidents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to restore service promptly and safely.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inspection findings. Generate technical reports and documentation to support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, reliability engineering, or related field within the electric utility industry.
- Strong technical proficiency in electrical systems, including knowledge of power distribution, protection schemes, and control systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex electrical systems and identify solutions efficiently.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and disciplines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours during emergencies or planned maintenance activities.
