LVI are working with a well known multi-disciplinary engineering company that are looking for an experienced Forensic Mechanical Engineer. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forensic Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating mechanical failures, accidents, and product defects to determine their root causes. Your findings will be crucial for legal proceedings, insurance claims, and product safety improvements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Forensic Investigations: Conduct detailed investigations of mechanical failures, accidents, and product defects. Collect and analyze evidence, including photographs, documents, and physical components.
- Root Cause Analysis: Utilize engineering principles to determine the root causes of mechanical failures. This may involve examining materials, stress analysis, and simulation.
- Report Generation: Prepare comprehensive and clear reports summarizing investigative findings. Present findings in a manner suitable for legal or insurance purposes.
- Expert Testimony: Provide expert testimony in court proceedings and other legal forums, explaining complex technical information in a way that is understandable to non-engineers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with legal teams, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise and support in cases related to mechanical failures.
- Safety Recommendations: Based on investigation results, make recommendations for safety improvements, design changes, or process enhancements to prevent future incidents.
- Clients: Establishing new client relationships and contribute towards business growth.
Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years experience within forensic engineering
