We are currently hiring for a Head of Engineering for a developer, position will be based in Seoul.
Position Overview:
As the Head of Engineering for solar and onshore wind projects in Korea, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of project development, from conception to execution. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in the development of solar and onshore wind projects in Korea.
- Lead the engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, finance, legal, and operations teams, to develop comprehensive project plans and timelines.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource evaluations to identify optimal locations for solar and onshore wind installations.
- Manage the engineering budget, resource allocation, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector, and integrate relevant innovations into project development strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to facilitate project development and permitting processes.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and permit applications required for project approvals and financing.
- Monitor project performance metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar and onshore wind technologies.
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale renewable energy projects on time and within budget.
- Deep understanding of solar and wind resource assessment methodologies, site selection criteria, and project development processes.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, permitting procedures, and environmental impact assessments for renewable energy projects in Korea.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
