My client is seeking a talented Lighting Designer to join their creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for lighting design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to bring artistic visions to life through innovative lighting concepts. This role requires both creative flair and technical proficiency to design and implement lighting schemes that enhance the atmosphere and visual impact of live events.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients, event planners, and production teams to understand project objectives and requirements.
- Develop creative lighting concepts that align with the event's theme, mood, and audience experience.
- Design lighting plots, cues, and programming using industry-standard software (e.g., Vectorworks, Lightwright, MA Lighting, etc.).
- Select appropriate lighting fixtures, equipment, and accessories based on project specifications and budget constraints.
- Work closely with the technical team to install, rig, focus, and program lighting setups for rehearsals and live events.
- Conduct on-site evaluations and adjustments to optimize lighting effects and ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical support during rehearsals, performances, and post-event evaluations.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in lighting design.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our creative processes and production workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre Design, Lighting Design, Technical Theatre, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven experience as a lighting designer for live events, including concerts, theatrical productions, corporate events, or similar.
- Proficiency in lighting design software and control systems (e.g., Vectorworks, Lightwright, ETC Eos family, GrandMA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of lighting principles, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for creativity and innovation.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards for live event production.
