We are seeking a highly skilled PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) Subject Matter Expert to join our team in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and expertise in assessing, managing, and remediating PFAS contamination across different environmental media.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for PFAS-related projects, providing expertise in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and remediation strategies.
- Conduct site investigations, sampling, and data analysis to assess PFAS contamination in soil, water, and air.
- Develop and implement comprehensive PFAS management plans, including risk communication strategies and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design and execute PFAS remediation projects, utilizing innovative and sustainable technologies.
- Stay current with emerging research, regulations, and best practices related to PFAS, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams accordingly.
- Support business development efforts by contributing technical expertise to proposals, presentations, and client meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental consulting or related industry, with a focus on PFAS assessment and remediation.
- Strong understanding of PFAS chemistry, fate and transport, toxicology, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., USEPA, State regulations).
- Proven track record of managing PFAS projects from inception to completion, including regulatory interactions and client communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, utilizing software tools such as GIS, statistical analysis software, and modeling programs.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer, Certified Environmental Professional) preferred.
