This environmental consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Remediation Specialist to join the team in Oakland, CA. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license and a strong background in remediation projects. As a Principal Remediation Specialist, you will lead remediation projects from inception to completion, providing technical expertise, leadership, and guidance to our team and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage remediation projects, including site investigation, remedial design, implementation, and closure.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimates for remediation projects.
- Develop and implement remediation strategies that comply with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure project goals, timelines, and budgets are met or exceeded.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to remediation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license required.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in environmental remediation, with a focus on contaminated site cleanup.
- Proven track record of successfully managing remediation projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Experience with GIS, CAD, and other relevant software is a plus.
