A leading player in the decarbonization sector is seeking a project manager to lead their major projects focused around hydrogen and ammonia. Based out of our Houston office, this permanent position offers exciting opportunities to work on innovative hydrogen and ammonia projects that will help shape the future of energy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complex execution strategies for hydrogen and ammonia projects, coordinating with global execution centers, third-party engineering firms, and specialty contractors.
- Translate project goals into executable plans.
- Engage with Project Management, Construction Management, Project Controls Management, and Supply Chain Management to integrate the project into the budget and schedule.
- Foster collaborative relationships in multi-office and multi-cultural environments.
- Lead the project team, assess performance, and manage changes to mitigate impact on scope, budget, or schedule.
- Develop Engineering and Design Execution Strategy, Construction, and Commissioning strategies.
- Provide key inputs to Project Execution Strategies and make strategic decisions affecting cross-functional areas.
- Ensure alignment of engineering activities with the Procurement and Contracts Plan, and the Project Construction Plan.
- Oversee worldwide sourcing of major commodities.
- Plan construction execution and support backwards planning to support the construction paths
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or equivalent.
- Project Manager: 8 years of relevant experience.
- Senior Project Manager: 12 years of relevant experience.
- Led at least 3 EPC projects, one valued over $1Bn TIC.
- Proven track record in managing engineering activities of large hydrogen or ammonia process plants.
- Experience in mentoring project engineering managers.
- 10 years of experience in major projects in the hydrogen or ammonia sector.
- Managed projects involving high-pressure systems, storage, and processing facilities.
- Executed at least one major capital project with a TIC of USD 200MM or more.
- Experience in developing projects with a portfolio of USD 1 Billion.
- Advanced experience in Primavera for schedule development and controls
- Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage change and bring a team together.
- Strong analytical and logical thought processes.
- Knowledge of hydrogen and ammonia projects.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
