Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Environmental Associate/Director to join the team in Jakarta. The successful candidate will focus on delivering high-quality technical environmental assessments, including Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD). The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of IFC standards and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) requirements. This role is dedicated to technical excellence and project delivery, with no business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Assessments:
- Lead and conduct comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and more for various projects.
- Ensure all assessments are compliant with IFC standards, ADB requirements, and local environmental regulations.
- Develop and review technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Project Management:
- Manage and oversee multiple environmental projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental assessments with overall project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant environmental regulations, standards, and best practices in Indonesia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
- Ensure all projects meet or exceed compliance requirements set by IFC, ADB, and other relevant bodies.
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory issues and environmental compliance to project teams and clients.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures for all technical deliverables.
- Conduct peer reviews of technical documents and provide constructive feedback to ensure high standards.
- Develop and maintain templates and guidelines for technical reporting and assessments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any concerns related to environmental assessments.
- Represent the company in technical discussions, workshops, and meetings with stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between project teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in environmental management or impact assessment are preferred.
- Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex environmental projects and delivering high-quality technical assessments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail in technical work.
