Our client, a leading engineering consulting firm with a strong presence in Wisconsin's water resources sector, is seeking a Stormwater Project Engineer to lead and support infrastructure projects focused on stormwater management and environmental resilience. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take on more responsibility and contribute to impactful work across the state.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will bring solid technical expertise in stormwater engineering, including system design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and regulatory compliance. You'll collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to deliver sustainable solutions that align with Wisconsin's environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement stormwater management systems, green infrastructure, and erosion control measures
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8, and TR-55
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory documentation
- Coordinate with WDNR, WisDOT, and local municipalities to ensure compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and assist with proposal development
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resources engineering with a focus on stormwater projects
- Wisconsin PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and water modeling software
- Familiarity with WDNR and WisDOT standards and permitting processes
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
