Senior Building Envelope Consultant
We are seeking a motivated Director of Building Envelope Project Engineer with a strong interest in investigation, repair, and rehabilitation of existing buildings. The position focuses on roofing, façade, structural, and balcony/deck rehabilitation projects, primarily within the multifamily sector.
The engineer will provide technical evaluations, structural & envelope assessments, design support, and construction-phase engineering oversight. Depending on experience, candidates may assist in investigation, design development, structural/envelope detailing, report writing, and construction administration.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate building envelope and structural systems (roofs, façades, balconies, decks, waterproofing, structural framing)
- Prepare technical reports and repair recommendations
- Support repair drawings, details, and specifications
- Perform field investigations, testing, and construction observations
- Assist with construction administration (RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay apps)
- Interface with clients, contractors, and project teams
Qualifications:
- PE or RA required
- 10+ years of experience in engineering consulting, building envelope, structural, or construction environments
- Strong technical writing and field experience
- Knowledge of IBC/IRC and construction documents
- IIBEC / ICC certifications, OSHA-10, AutoCAD experience a plus
- Valid U.S. driver's license (field travel required)
