Environmental Site Inspector

An established environmental consulting firm is seeking a qualified Environmental Site Inspector with QSD/QSP certification and a minimum of 3 years of field experience to join their dynamic team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role involves performing construction site inspections, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with stormwater and environmental regulations.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have QSD and/or QSP certification and at least 3 years of relevant field experience, with the ability to support environmental oversight from pre-construction through project execution. Experience with ERTC (Environmental Release to Construction) processes is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine stormwater and environmental inspections on construction and industrial sites

  • Prepare and maintain Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and detailed inspection reports

  • Ensure site compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including the Construction General Permit

  • Support and help facilitate Environmental Release to Construction (ERTC) documentation and processes

  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to address compliance needs

  • Evaluate Best Management Practices (BMPs) and conduct field sampling as necessary

  • Travel throughout the Bay Area to support multiple project sites

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on field experience in environmental compliance or stormwater management

  • Active QSD and/or QSP certification

  • Familiarity with ERTC processes and construction permitting workflows

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification

  • GIS, AutoCAD, or data analysis experience

  • Previous experience supporting infrastructure, redevelopment, or public-sector projects in Northern California

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience
