Sr Mechanical Engineer - Power/Gas (Hybrid/Remote)

Location: Kansas City, MO (or one of our other office locations including Savannah, GA; Greenville, SC; Baton Rouge, LA; Raleigh, NC; Cincinnati, OH; Greater Washington, DC Area; or Appleton, WI. Hybrid/Remote flexibility offered but must be within an hour driving distance to one of these office locations.

About Us: We are an engineering consultancy providing full-service EPCm (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) services to various industrial sectors. We are expanding rapidly and offer exciting opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design power generation systems and recommend equipment based on client needs.
  • Lead technical projects, from small modifications to complex EPC contracts.
  • Travel to project and construction sites as needed.
  • Size, select, and specify equipment such as turbines, HRSGs, emission control, and more.
  • Review vendor submittals to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform heat and mass balances using Thermoflex and custom software.
  • Manage project schedules and staffing.
  • Coordinate with structural and electrical engineering teams.
  • Assist in business development by preparing estimates and proposals.
  • Develop system and plant models for efficiency optimization.
  • Author technical and commercial reports.
  • Design medium voltage power generation systems.
  • Create conceptual layouts and sketches.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical engineering projects.
  • Produce one-line diagrams, relay settings, and perform arc flash assessments.
  • Conduct power energy and quality audits.
  • Develop equipment and construction specifications.

Qualifications:

  • 5-15+ years of experience in power generation and distribution design.
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, and NFPA codes and standards.
  • Ability to manage on-site projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • PE license in good standing.
