Roadway Department Lead
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies for Florida's roadway market, including identifying new clients and opportunities
- Lead pursuit efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client needs
- Oversee project delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
- Recruit, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment
- Establish and maintain quality assurance processes that meet or exceed industry standards
- Manage day-to-day operations and optimize workload distribution across the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with state agencies, transportation leaders, and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with other service areas to promote integrated, multidisciplinary project delivery
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to maintain a competitive position
- Represent the organization at industry events, client meetings, and internal initiatives as a visible leader
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience in roadway engineering, ideally with Florida DOT and municipal clients
- Strong background in business development and pursuit management within the transportation sector
- Proven project management experience delivering complex infrastructure projects
- Ability to recruit, lead, and grow technical teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Familiarity with Florida DOT processes, regulations, and stakeholders preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in consulting or related client environments
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred
