Position: Bridge Engineer
Location: Kentucky

Overview:
A well-established engineering firm is seeking a Bridge Engineer to support the design, analysis, and delivery of transportation structures across Kentucky. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of bridge and infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to high-impact transportation improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural design and analysis for bridges, culverts, and related infrastructure

  • Prepare construction documents, plans, specifications, and cost estimates

  • Assist with load ratings, inspections, and rehabilitation design for existing structures

  • Coordinate with roadway, geotechnical, and hydraulic engineering teams

  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., AASHTO, KYTC)

  • Support project delivery from concept through construction, including field visits as needed

  • Contribute to project schedules, budgets, and technical reports


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

  • 5-15 years of experience in bridge/structural design

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain

  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenBridge, LEAP, or similar)

  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills


Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience with state DOT projects, especially in Kentucky or surrounding states

  • Bridge inspection experience (NBIS familiarity a plus)

  • Exposure to rehabilitation and load rating projects
