Position: Bridge Engineer
Location: Kentucky
Overview:
A well-established engineering firm is seeking a Bridge Engineer to support the design, analysis, and delivery of transportation structures across Kentucky. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of bridge and infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to high-impact transportation improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform structural design and analysis for bridges, culverts, and related infrastructure
Prepare construction documents, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Assist with load ratings, inspections, and rehabilitation design for existing structures
Coordinate with roadway, geotechnical, and hydraulic engineering teams
Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., AASHTO, KYTC)
Support project delivery from concept through construction, including field visits as needed
Contribute to project schedules, budgets, and technical reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
5-15 years of experience in bridge/structural design
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenBridge, LEAP, or similar)
Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience with state DOT projects, especially in Kentucky or surrounding states
Bridge inspection experience (NBIS familiarity a plus)
Exposure to rehabilitation and load rating projects
