A respected and employee-owned consulting engineering firm is seeking a Hydraulic Modeler to join its Seattle-based team. This is a key technical role supporting a wide range of municipal water and wastewater projects across the Pacific Northwest, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and long-term career growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and calibrate hydraulic models of water distribution systems using commercial software.
  • Analyze system performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend capital improvements.
  • Support utility planning through scenario modeling, optimization strategies, and data analytics.
  • Document modeling methods and results in technical reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple office locations.
  • Contribute to tool development and explore emerging technologies in modeling and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in hydraulic modeling.
  • Washington PE license or EIT on track to obtain PE (or eligible via reciprocity).
  • Proficiency with InfoWater/InfoWater Pro, WaterGEMS, or similar modeling software.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with gravity system modeling tools (e.g., InfoSWMM, XPSWMM, MIKE+, SewerGEMS).
  • Programming experience for task automation or custom tool development.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience, education, and technical expertise.
Range: 115000 - 135000
