Location: Sacramento, California
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Geologist with a strong background in groundwater and subsurface investigations. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in borehole drilling, well design and construction, well development, and performance testing. This role involves evaluating geological features, environmental conditions, and supporting water resource and contaminant investigation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Operations: Oversee borehole drilling, well design, construction, development, and testing activities.
- Site Evaluation: Assess geological features, project sites, and environmental conditions to support project objectives.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze variations in pumping water levels, sand production, and electrical consumption to evaluate well and pump performance.
- Modeling Support (Preferred): Apply analytical and numerical groundwater models to assist in contaminant investigations and water resource projects.
- Data Interpretation: Compile and interpret field and laboratory data to inform project decisions and reporting.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain safe work practices during field operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in borehole drilling, well design/construction, and groundwater testing.
- Strong understanding of hydrogeologic principles and field investigation techniques.
- Experience with groundwater modeling tools (preferred but not required).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in both field and office environments.
