The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Building Enclosure Consultant to support a growing practice in Central Florida. This position offers a mix of technical consulting, forensic investigations, remedial design, project management, and construction-phase services focused on roofing, waterproofing, façades, fenestration, and exterior wall systems. The successful candidate will act as a technical leader, managing projects from investigation through design and construction while mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead building enclosure assessments, forensic investigations, and condition evaluations.
- Develop repair, rehabilitation, and retrofit solutions for existing buildings.
- Provide enclosure consulting and design support for new construction and renovation projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
- Conduct moisture intrusion investigations and building performance evaluations.
- Perform or oversee field testing of roofing, waterproofing, façade, and fenestration systems.
- Prepare technical reports, repair recommendations, specifications, and construction details.
- Provide construction-phase observations and quality assurance services.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the technical growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in building enclosure consulting, building envelope engineering, roofing, waterproofing, restoration, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of building science, enclosure systems, and remedial design principles.
- Experience investigating water intrusion, enclosure failures, and constructability issues.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong project management and client-facing communication skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) licence preferred.
- Experience with ASTM, AAMA, ANSI, or similar industry testing standards is advantageous.
- Relevant industry certifications such as RRC, RRO, RWC, BECxP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to undertake site visits and field investigations.
