We're seeking a Mid to Senior Geotechnical Engineer to play a key role in supporting projects across Columbia, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia. This position offers a unique blend of technical responsibility, hands-on field involvement, and leadership development, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact on project delivery while helping grow and strengthen the engineering team around you.
This role is ideally suited for an engineer who wants to continue developing technically while stepping into greater leadership and mentorship responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and support geotechnical investigations for a variety of commercial, industrial, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
- Perform and oversee field explorations, drilling programs, and site investigations.
- Interpret subsurface conditions and develop practical geotechnical recommendations.
- Prepare and review geotechnical engineering reports and technical documentation.
- Provide engineering support throughout project design and construction phases.
- Collaborate with project managers, geologists, technicians, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor and develop early-career engineers, helping build technical capabilities across the team.
- Support operations and projects in the Augusta market while maintaining a primary presence in Columbia approximately 3 days per week.
- Participate in client interactions and help strengthen long-term relationships within the region.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain in the near future.
- Experience conducting and interpreting geotechnical field investigations.
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
- Knowledge of foundation systems, earthwork, slope stability, site development, and construction support services.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high technical standards.
- Passion for mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a practical, client-focused approach to engineering.

Compensation & Benefits
Starting Salary: $110,000+
