Senior Project Controls Engineer
About the Role
LVI Associates are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Engineer with deep expertise in Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling to join our clients growing team. This role is pivotal in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, complex projects. You will lead schedule development, provide cost and schedule integration, conduct risk analysis, and support project leadership with accurate, data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (or other scheduling tools).
- Provide full lifecycle CPM scheduling support: baseline creation, updates, progress measurement, and forecasting.
- Perform schedule analysis including schedule health checks, critical path evaluation, variance analysis, and delay assessments.
- Integrate schedule and cost data to support project controls reporting.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality reporting packages including schedule narratives, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Identify schedule risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Support claims, delay analysis, and forensic schedule reviews when required.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, industry standards, and client-specific requirements.
- Mentor junior project controls staff and support best-practice development across the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or related field.
- 5-10+ years of project controls experience with a strong focus on CPM scheduling.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6; familiarity with additional tools (e.g., TILOS, MS Project, Acumen Fuse) a plus.
- Deep understanding of planning methodologies, schedule risk analysis, and earned value management (EVM).
- Proven experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex schedule data and communicate insights clearly.
- Experience supporting delay analysis, claims preparation, or expert witness engagements is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certifications (PSP, PMI-SP, AACE, etc.) preferred.
