Florida Water Lead

Florida Water Lead | Florida (Location Flexible)

We are partnering with a specialist water resources civil engineering consulting firm in the Tampa Bay area, recognized for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for public agencies across. Their work spans water resources engineering, regulatory support, and construction engineering/inspection services. This firm is now ready to expand - opening an additional Florida presence - and is seeking a "seller/doer" leader to launch and grow it.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a rare chance for an entrepreneurial water resources engineer to "run your own shop" without taking on the risk of starting from scratch. You will have:

* True autonomy to shape the office, the team, and the work you pursue

* Direct access to an engaged, supportive owner who is passionate about engineering and committed to helping you succeed

* The resources of an established firm - reputation, systems, technical depth, and operational support - behind your growth

* Flexibility in expectations as you build momentum

If you've ever wanted to build a practice, mentor a team, and lead client relationships - this is the platform.

LOCATION

* Serve as a trusted technical and client-facing leader in stormwater, drainage, watershed planning, hydrology/hydraulics, and resilience work

* Build and mentor a team as workload grows - developing engineers/designers under you

* Lead proposals, scopes, fees, and client strategy; collaborate with leadership to align resources and delivery

* Ensure exceptional technical quality and client satisfaction, leveraging company tools/standards/support

* Represent the firm externally through relationships, presentations, and professional involvement

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

* Establish a clear market focus and launch plan for your Florida area

* Win and deliver initial projects using a mix of your relationships and firm capabilities

* Hire and develop the first set of team members under you as backlog expands

* Create repeatable BD rhythms (pursuits, pipeline, client touch points) that scale

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* 12+ years of progressive experience in Water Resources Engineering (flexible based on strength of business development track record)

* Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license

* Demonstrated success in business development (bringing in work)
