Overview

  • Compensation: Competitive six-figure base salary, targeting approximately $200K
  • Locations: Charlotte, NC | Atlanta, GA | Orlando, FL | West Palm Beach, FL
  • Requirement: Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Experience: 10+ years of substation engineering experience

What They're Looking For

  • Active PE license
  • Strong background in high-voltage substation design (69kV+ preferred)
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineers, designers, and technical teams
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, quality control, and client engagement
  • Utility, consulting, or EPC experience within power delivery/substation engineering

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of substation engineers and designers
  • Oversee project execution, staffing, resource planning, and financial performance
  • Serve as a technical lead and Engineer of Record when required
  • Support recruiting, business development, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Maintain engineering standards, quality processes, and client relationships
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff

Preferred Background

  • Utility substation design experience
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Substation physical design
    • Grounding studies
    • Lightning protection
    • Bus calculations
    • NESC, IEEE, and other applicable industry standards
  • Multi-state PE licensure and/or NCEES record preferred
