Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and consultative Building Automation Sales Executive to join an established controls integrator serving customers throughout New England. This role combines account management and new business development, offering the opportunity to build on a strong existing customer base while driving growth across commercial, healthcare, educational, and government sectors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow building automation sales throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and the wider New England region
  • Manage and expand an existing portfolio of customer accounts
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across target markets
  • Build relationships with facility managers, building owners, consulting engineers, contractors, and end users
  • Promote building automation, HVAC controls, energy optimisation, service agreements, retrofits, and upgrade solutions
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, presentations, and project scope recommendations
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and solution-based sales presentations
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, and estimating teams to develop competitive solutions
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities through the sales process
  • Represent the organisation professionally throughout all customer interactions
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market developments, and emerging building technologies

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience selling Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), or HVAC controls solutions
  • Track record of developing new business while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through project award
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls applications, and building automation solutions
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with customers within commercial, healthcare, education, and government environments
  • Results-driven approach with strong organisational and pipeline management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams

Additional or Desirable Experience

  • Experience selling Niagara-based building automation solutions
  • Familiarity with Distech controls platforms
  • Existing relationships within the New England market
  • Experience selling retrofit, modernisation, service, and new construction solutions
  • Knowledge of energy management, analytics, and smart building technologies
  • Background working with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and facility operators
