BAS Service Technician
Overview
A growing Building Automation Systems (BAS) integrator is seeking a Building Automation Service Technician to support commercial and institutional clients throughout the Greater Boston area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with 2-3 years of building automation, HVAC controls, or DDC experience looking to further develop their technical skills while working on a variety of buildings including healthcare, life sciences, education, commercial office, and industrial facilities.
The company has a strong project backlog, invests heavily in employee training and career development, and offers a clear path toward senior technician, programming, engineering, or project management positions.
Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair BAS/DDC control systems
- Diagnose HVAC control issues involving air handlers, VAVs, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, and rooftop units
- Respond to client service calls and support preventative maintenance activities
- Perform point-to-point checkout, controller replacements, and system upgrades
- Analyze system trends, alarms, and graphics to identify operational issues
- Assist with system commissioning and startup activities
- Work with project teams on retrofit and modernization projects
- Generate detailed service reports and communicate findings to customers
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining strong client relationships
Qualifications
Required
- 2-3 years of experience in Building Automation Systems, HVAC Controls, DDC Controls, or HVAC service
- Understanding of HVAC equipment and mechanical systems
- Experience troubleshooting control devices, sensors, actuators, and controllers
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and control schematics
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Valid driver's license
