Bridge Inspector
Overview
We are seeking a Bridge Inspector to support and lead bridge inspection efforts across Indiana.
What You'll Do
- Assist with onsite bridge inspections, data entry, and preparation of bridge inspection reports
- Manage bridge inspection equipment and schedule inspection personnel
- Progress toward leading onsite bridge inspections
- Work and coordinate with roadway, water, environmental, survey, and utility engineers
What We're Looking For
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); or a bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited program plus Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification; or, in lieu of a degree, 3+ years of equivalent work experience focused on bridge design, construction, or maintenance
- Knowledge of state bridge inspection guidelines (preferred but not required)
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel for bridge inspections, including day and occasional overnight trips
- Interest in eventually becoming a certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader
