CAD Designer II
CAD Designer II - Solar & BESS
Seeking a CAD Designer II with experience supporting utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This role will contribute to the design and drafting of renewable energy projects ranging from 1 MW to 500+ MW, working closely with engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop construction drawing packages, including site layouts, equipment arrangements, and electrical drawings.
- Create and maintain project layouts from early development through as-built documentation.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and engineering teams to support project design requirements.
- Prepare, organize, and manage design documentation and drawing packages.
- Provide technical support during design, permitting, and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with company QA/QC standards and drafting procedures.
- Support the development and maintenance of CAD standards and templates.
- Participate in occasional site visits as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience with an electrical design firm or design-build electrical contractor.
- Experience supporting solar PV and/or BESS projects.
- Strong AutoCAD skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with PVsyst is a plus.
- Strong organization, file management, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Interest in renewable energy and clean power infrastructure.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented designer looking to grow their experience on large-scale renewable energy projects while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.
