The Role
A mid-level civil design engineering position with hands-on project work across a diverse portfolio of land development projects. You'll work alongside experienced project managers and team leads in a collaborative office environment based in Gig Harbor & Tacoma, Washington.
Responsibilities
- Perform civil design calculations and prepare construction plans, exhibits, reports, and project documents
- Compile and submit permit applications to local and state agencies
- Provide construction cost estimates and support risk analysis
- Attend design meetings and interact with clients, consultants, and reviewing agencies
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office suite for design and documentation
- Coordinate with project managers and team leads throughout project development
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of civil engineering experience in land development
- EIT or PE certification preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with Washington State and Puget Sound region jurisdictions and permitting processes
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Note: applicants should expect a competency assessment covering AutoCAD, land development applications, and report writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across commercial, residential, mixed-use, or light industrial project types
- Familiarity with jurisdictions across the Puget Sound region
- PE license
Compensation
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- $80,000 to $130,000+
- Full benefits including company-paid medical, dental, and vision; company matching retirement plan; and generous PTO
